Group Term Life Insurance
Group Life Insurance is available to the department for all participating members. The premium is a blended rate based on the average age of participating members. All members within a given benefit class will be insured for the same amount. Participating members are determined from the annual roster provided by the organization. From age 17 to age 75. There are NO medical exams or questions. Coverage is “convertible”, which means members can take it with them when they leave. The minimum coverage amount is $10,000 and the maximum is $50,000.
Group Critical Illness Insurance
Group Critical Illness Insurance fills the gap for the Volunteer Firefighter where Worker’s Compensation, On and Off Duty Accident Coverage, and Life Insurance do not. Critical Illness Insurance pays a lump sum of cash upon the diagnosis of a covered illness. Critical Illness Insurance is available to the department for all participating members.
Coverage includes:
Cancer & Cancer Reoccurrence, Stroke, Heart Attack, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Heart Valve Replacement, Severe Burns, Occupational HIV Infection plus 17 other illnesses
Benefit Option: $5,000 to $25,000
Evidence of Insurability: NOT required
